“Summer, summer, summertime….summertime!” Ahhhh, what a blast from the past! Thanks to the Fresh Prince for ingraining that hook in my head. To all of those younger peeps out there, I am referring to Will Smith. A.K.A. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Summer weather, summer movies (drive-in!), baseball, pools, beaches, fireworks. I know I am forgetting something, but anyway, I love summertime! I seem so much more motivated when it is warm and sunny. It has been another awesome weekend at ECC. We baptized 5 more people! Performed “Say” by John Mayer as the special. It was an inspiring moment. It amazes me how God moves no matter how much we sometimes get in the way. He can use anything…. any motive, any choice, any circumstance and any occasion to glorify His kingdom. My goal most days is to just get out of the way!

SUMMERTIME!
Monday, May 25th, 2009Lucky Me!
Sunday, May 17th, 2009Here I sit on Sunday night thinking about how excited I am about going to work tomorrow. I am amazed every day at how awesome our God is and how much He knows what we need before we do. I feel so blessed not only to be in this job that I love, but also to be working along side some really GREAT people in a church that God is totally working in. I have been at Eastside my whole life, but somehow being on staff puts a whole new perspective on things. I see how hard people work all week long to prepare for a Sunday service and what they have to do to make it “work” just right. I also see the heart and soul that goes into every ounce of the service. I see the passion to win souls to Christ and the urgency of each Sunday that approaches. I see the heart break as the body suffers and the shouts of joy when great things happen in our “family”. I am overwhelmed by the love that this staff has for its people and for Christ and I thank God every day for putting me on this side of the fence. If anyone of the body questions whether someone is praying for them, question no more. If anyone wonders if anyone knows their hurts, wonder no more. If anyone thinks that no one thinks about them, think again. I truly believe that there is no greater staff and no greater body than those that call Eastside Christian Church their home and I am more than proud to call you all my family.
In Him,
Jennifer
RADICAL…..
Sunday, May 17th, 2009Remember this word? It was catchy in the eighties! I remember that there was a movie I used to love to watch called “RAD”. It was about BMX racing! LOL! Anyway, the series we started today, JESUS REVOLUTION, is really awesome and God kicked the series off in style today! First, I was ordained today which was really cool. Then God really anointed Dave in his message today as he talked about being the salt of the earth and a light to the world. Finally several people came forward after second service, two of which were my mom and dad. I spoke with mom afterwards and she told me that they are getting baptized next week. It is very overwhelming taking in all of the emotions of the day. Here is what I can take from this day….God and Christ deserve everything I can give them. They gave absolutely everything for us……Christ gave his life! So, be a revolution, start a revolution….join our revolution! Be radical, be real, be rescued…..
Peace,

I LOVE MOVIES!!!
Tuesday, May 5th, 2009To me, staying up to date on popular movies and shows is a great way to connect with different kinds of people. It is also a great common ground to bring people together. For instance, last Thursday night, I believe we had 30 peeps from church roll out to the midnight show of X Men Origins: Wolverine. It was awesome! I was the biggest loser arriving at 9:30 paranoid I wouldn’t get a good seat. As the hour drew closer, more and more friends showed up and it was such a blast. This week we are planning on hitting the new Star Trek movie. Good times. I love summer time!
This Sunday is Mother’s Day. So don’t forget to pick momma up a little something. We have a powerful service lined out, so I hope to see you all there. Peace!
