ROCK THE NIGHT

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

I was ROCKED. I don’t know any better way to say it. On Tuesday night I was one of several dozen people sitting before the Clarksville City Council as ROCK president, Bryan Wickens, asked them to enforce the laws against the sex industry, and in particular Theatre X. I was ROCKED as I witnessed Bryan speak the truth in love, completely gentle and patient. I was ROCKED to see all the people who gave up their evening to show support for godly values. I was ROCKED to see prayers answered as officails were obviously convicted, even though they chose not to respond in any way. Every once in awhile God chooses to ROCK me in a way that I feel good about my faith. I left concerned about our government officials, but lifted in spirit concerning the power of God. ROCK on!

Blessings!

Easter

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Well I am here blogging for the very first time. I am one of those folks that can be described as “very emotional”  so taking a few minutes to blog about the Easter service many would say would be hard for me. They may be right, but here it goes.  Being involved with the service and part of the worship team I felt  prepared for what was going to happen. You know, I knew what was coming. I knew what each song was going to be and where each creative element was going to take place.  But,  what  happened on Sunday was so much more than I had even prepared for.

I felt like each song and each word and creative element pointed me to what Christ really did for me. Not just the awesome gift of serving a living Savior - but what Christ endured for me. Something you don’t always get in the Easter service. You know what I am saying - save the other for the Good Friday service, at least that is how it was when I grew up. I felt like Dave was speaking only to me on Sunday.  Plain and simple truths about what an awesome God did for me.

One of the most moving elements of the service that  was painted so beautifully, was when we were singing Jesus Paid it All. What a incredible song- especially when it comes to the part that He washed us white as snow. Each time in the service when the snow came down I thought of how many times He had washed me clean of my sin. Such a beautiful memory that will be.

REMEMBER

Friday, April 10th, 2009

We’re only a few days away now from Easter. In the midst of all the planning, stressing, shopping, visiting and working, I sometimes forget to take a moment on this day, Good Friday and give thanks for what Christ did on the cross. No one on this earth could have endured what he did and I am eternally grateful for his sacrifice. Our words don’t always do it justice. Better to say thank you with our lives.

Peace,

Ken
